We want to make Season Two happen and we want to make it even better! We realize there were notable volume and background noise issues in Season One but are working hard to assure we’ll be able to iron out those problems moving forward.
Here’s what’s happening now:
We’re working with StudioToBe — a new media work space where the podcast is being recorded — to raise money online, apply for grants and plan a fundraising event. Details of the event are still being ironed out but we’re looking at the end of May for a happy hour/Q&A session in Oakland. We’ll keep you updated so you can get your tickets!
We just applied for a grant that would provide training and financial aid to produce another season of the podcast and distribute it to a larger audience. The competition is stiff for this particular program, so we’re not betting on it, but we are gearing up to apply for other grants that support media and human rights projects.
Please check out our GoFundMe page! If you’re excited about hearing another season of Generation Cult, you can make a contribution and we’d be ever so grateful. The money we’re raising will go to important production costs such as sound design and content editing. There are so many moving parts that go into a show like this and we want to do everything we can to make it great.
Thank you for your time and support!
